Cast iron mold to make 12 Takoyakis or Ebiyaki.
Takoyaki are a sweet mix of donuts and dumplings composed of dough traditionally including a piece of octopus (taki) or shrimp (ebi). They are found a lot in Japanese street food. Once turned using large saibashi chopsticks, the dishes are sold in trays or skewers with the sauce, dried bonito shavings (Katsuobushi) or even ginger on top.
The Japanese recipe for takoyaki can be found on the back of the box. Note that you can of course replace the pouplpe with other ingredients such as vegetables, chicken, shrimp or other shellfish. Also, it is possible to use it for sweet dishes by diverting the cooking of the dorayaki or pancake dough by making it directly in this mold. Another fun way to use this utensil that we can't do without!
This utensil is to be used on the fire or with a gas stove for a more convivial cooking in the center of your table. Remember to oil it before cooking.
