List of products by brand YAXELL
The history of knife-making in Seki dates back 780 years, starting with swordsmith Motoshige during the Kamakura period. The city has all the natural resources needed for crafting Katana, making it ideal for sword production. After the 1876 Sword Abolishment Edict, Seki shifted to producing kitchen knives. Founded in 1932, Yaxell Corporation inherited these traditional skills and now creates high-end kitchen knives like “豪GOU,” “嵐RAN,” “膳ZEN,” and “紋MON,” combining advanced technology with craftsmanship. Yaxell continues to innovate, offering world-class knives.
The history of knife-making in Seki began 780 years ago during the Kamakura period, when a swordsmith from Kyushu named Motoshige moved to Seki and became involved in Katana-making. Seki has all the natural resources needed for forging Katana: steel, charcoal (Matsuzumi), water, and soil, making it the ideal city for sword forging. However, after the 1876 Sword Abolishment Edict, the demand for Katana sharply declined, and Seki shifted to producing kitchen knives.
Yaxell Corporation, founded in 1932, inherited these traditional skills and now crafts professional kitchen knives. By combining advanced technology with the knowledge of traditional craftsmen, Yaxell has created high-end knife lines like “豪GOU,” “嵐RAN,” “膳ZEN,” and “紋MON,” which are highly regarded both in Japan and globally. The "嵐RAN" series, known for its blend of classic aesthetics and modern design, has become especially popular worldwide.
Yaxell continues to innovate, focusing on producing the highest-quality knives that meet customer needs while maintaining and enhancing manufacturing technologies.
